Rally - Intro

Dogs Ages 5 months and Up
Register

Class Description

Rally is a FUN activity which sharpens skills, increases confidence, and heightens the relationship between you and your dog.  Dog rally emphasizes positive reinforcement training techniques, focusing on rewarding desired behaviors rather than punishing mistakes.

Think of navigating through a miniature golf course where you follow the numbered signs and complete the task at hand.  That is Rally!

Instructor:  Leah Pacitto
Cost:  $245.00 for 6 weeks - 1 hour lesson

Class Structure

WE FOLLOW AKC RALLY SIGNS AND GUIDELINES, however, you can learn the basic skills and follow with any organization. Every course design is unique and offers new challenges for the dog and handler. Participation in Rally can be for fun or it can be a competitive sport. This introduction class is strictly for fun! Each dog will take a turn going through the course, one at a time.  Dogs must be able to wait their turn either on leash or in a crate.

Topics Covered

In this class you will learn the steps to navigate through a series of instructional signs, each indicating a different exercise for you both to perform (sit, down, pivot, circle, weave through cones, recall, etc.).

Your dog must have experience in a group training class prior to Intro to Rally Concepts.  Skills needed for this class
  • Sit
  • Down (without popping up)
  • Stay (sit, stand and down)
  • Heel (loose leash beside the handler's leg)
  • Come when called
  • Finish and Swing would be helpful
