Class Description

If your goal is a very well-trained companion dog, this class  will focus on practicing each core skill in different contexts and real life scenarios.  Around the Town is a great opportunity to prepare for Canine Good Citizen, assistance dog and therapy dog work!

Class Structure

Classes will be held at local stores, towns, shopping centers and parks to build focus and/or confidence in the real world. Location information and supply list will be provided after registration.

All dogs in Around the Town need to have basic obedience training, leash skills and be able to perform near other dogs in public places.  Your dog does not have to be perfect, hence the purpose of this class!

WHAT IF I MISS A CLASS?
There are no make up classes for any missed classes.  Follow up emails are sent after each class for your review.
What are the requirements to register for this class?
  • Non-aggressive dog. 
  • It is recommended that your dog walk well on a leash, and know basic commands. 
  • Recommended classes to take before Around the Town:  Manners & More Level 1, Leash and Greet.
  • If your dog is reactive, we recommend taking our reactive classes prior to taking Around the Town.
  • Pre-registration. 
  • Proof of vaccination for DISTEMPER/PARVO COMBO booster and RABIES. A detailed receipt from the vet is acceptable
  • All necessary paperwork required by Dog Gone Good Dog Training prior to your first class.​​​
when can I sign up for THIS class?
Take a look at our schedule and see what class works best with your schedule.  If you do not see one, please add your name to the wait list.  
Where is this class BEING HELD?
Various locations in the area.   You will be notified the day before where class will be the next day.
WHO CAN COME TO TRAINING CLASS?
Everyone is welcome to attend classes and take turns working with the dog.  We ask that you do not alternate handlers each week, and have at least one consistent person attending all classes.

Pre-payment is required to guarantee your place in class. We accept credit cards, cash or check. what should I bring to this class?
Harness, 6 foot leash, treat pouch & treats, clean up kit (poop bags, spray, wipes) water and bowl.
