Class DescriptionIn Puppy Head Start, you'll learn the basic foundation for how to start off on the right paw by using positive training methods! Every class is structured to build your relationship with your dog and to maximize socialization for your puppy. Early socialization is the BEST thing you can do for your dog, as lack of socialization increases the risk of problem behaviors later in their life. Socializing your dog includes exposing them to the world all around them: other dogs; people of all ages, shapes, and sizes; different environments, textures under their paws, objects, sounds, and smells; almost anything you can think of that would be new to them. We have a fun obstacle course they can practice each week.

FAQ'sAm I putting my dog's health at risk by exposing them to new people and animals?
There are some concerns about the health risks of exposing your puppy to new people, other animals, and environments. However, the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior recommends that the standard of care for puppies is to receive such socialization before they are fully vaccinated (typically, four months old). Incomplete or improper socialization during their first months of life can increase the risk of behavioral problems later in life including fear, avoidance, and/or aggression.
