THE FEARFUL DOG

​Does your pup run the other way when they see another dog? Are they afraid to investigate objects in their world? Do they shy away when people approach?

The Fearful Dog is an introductory level course designed for dogs that are overwhelmed by their environment. This class focuses on building trust between you and your dog, as well as boosting your dog’s confidence through positive reinforcement training. 

"I received your email inquiring about how Katie is doing.  I had emailed Leah to tell her how happy I am with the fearful dog class I attended.  There has been such a change with her.  Lynn did a great job not only teaching the class but, in answering questions.  Katie now gets excited to get "dressed", go in the car, and to actually walk in a leash!  I have found she doesn't like to walk near the road.  If I take her hiking, she is in heaven.  Naturally I will continue to work with her and look forward to doing "things" with her. ​COURSE TOPICS INCLUDE:
  • Desensitization and counter conditioning to make positive associations with novel objects, sights, sounds, people, handling, and other dogs
  • Building interest in play and toys
  • Settle down (calmness in the home)
  • Identifying signs of stress in your dog
  • Dog body language
  • and more!

First class is an orientation for owners only.
​
Last class is 1:1 evaluation with the instructor in the community to assess how you and your dog have improved with the new skills you have both learned during the session.  This can be in your neighborhood, a park, or at a local store.

ALL WINTER CLASSES ARE HELD INSIDE AND ARE LIMITED TO 1 HANDLER PER DOG FOR YOUR SAFETY AND THAT OF OUR STAFF.   A MASK IS REQUIRED!  OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS CAN PARTICIPATE VIA ZOOM DURING THE CLASS. ​​​
