SHY DOG CONFIDENCE BUILDING
Have you welcomed a rescue dog or puppy into your home only find out they are shy around people or scared of objects? This might be the class for you.
Having a dog who is fearful of people, objects and their environment can be difficult to navigate.
Solutions for these dogs is not a one size fits all.
Before we jump into action, we need to ask:
What is my dog afraid of?
Are they sound sensitive?
Are they food vs toy motivated?
Do they need stillness or movement to find comfort?
Is it dogs and/or humans that are a source of fear?
Once we start to understand your dog, only then we can begin finding the solution.
Each dog will advance at their own pace. We might see this as a small step but for them it could be a HUGE break through. Join me and enjoy the process.
What we will cover:
Learning to read your dog? Body language is key!
Leverage Pattern Games – This gets your dog into a rhythm so they can learn to accept the environment.
How to introduce objects.
Shaping confidence by rewarding choices.
