PUPPY FIRST STEPS COURSE
Ages 10 - 20 weeks
Explore your puppy’s brand-new world with a healthy, happy start to your journey together, building positive habits that last a lifetime. Successfully work with your puppy to get the kind of behavior you like, both at home and out in the world!
Socialization is the single most important part of raising a puppy. Socialization is the process of introducing pups to all kinds of things, experiences, noises, and settings in a positive context while they’re young so that they’ll be comfortable, well-adjusted adult dogs. Most issues such as fear, shyness, and other serious behavior problems we see in adult dogs stem from under-socialization during puppyhood.
Coursework includes:
We’ll talk about housetraining issues and “naughty” behaviors like chewing and mouthing. We’ll help you learn how to teach your pup to be comfortable when left alone and how to handle your puppy’s body, so they are comfortable when seeing the vet or the groomer.
This class is designed specifically to meet the training and socialization needs of young pups 10 – 20 weeks old when class begins. Your puppy must be 10 days past their initial vaccination for DHPP on the first day of class. You will be required to provide proof of vaccination.
