The evaluation of a dog’s ability to perform ten home manners skills will be done by a video recording  and evaluated by us!

Virtual Home Manners Puppy (VHMP)
Virtual Home Manners Adult (VHMA)
Dogs that pass the test will be awarded these titles.

Information

The Virtual Home Manners tests assess ten skills that well-mannered pet dogs need in the home setting.  The skills relate to the dog owner having control over the dog, being able to walk the dog (which is one of the most frequently cited activities that owners want to do with their dogs) and developing a bond with the dog during playtime.

How Virtual Home Manners Works
 
To earn the Virtual Home Manners titles, follow these easy steps:
 
  1. Dog owners will video their dogs performing the required skills.
  2. A link to the video will be sent to Dog Gone Good Dog Training.
  3. After watching the video, if the dog passes, the Evaluator will send the authorized Checklist and Virtual Home Manners Application Form to the dog owner.
  4. The dog owner will then send to AKC:
  •  a) The Checklist
  •  b) The Virtual Home Manners Title Application Form
  •  c) A fee of $30.00.

Puppy Skill Requirements Needed (12 wks to 1 yr)

  • Allows Petting
  • Grooming
  • Sit on Command
  • Down on Command
  • Go to Place 15 Seconds
  • Comes when Called 10 ft
  • House Training
  • Demonstrates Relationship Puppy
  • Out For A Walk Puppy
  • Exercise Outside Puppy

Adult Skill Requirements Needed (1 yr & older)

  • Petting and Grooming
  • Sit On Command No Lure
  • Down On Command No Lure
  • Come When Called 20 ft
  • Manners Related To Food –
  • DoorBell Knock
  • Go To Place 1 Minute
  • Demonstrates Relationship Adult
  • Out for a Walk Adult
  • Exercise Outside Adult
