I hear it often - "My dog isn't good enough to take ____ class." It is remarkable to see the transformation of the dogs and handlers from the beginning through the end of each class!
Don't worry, or be intimidated at all! My classes are very relaxed at every level and I am a hands-on instructor. I am here to address your main issues and help achieve your goals. This relaxed class focuses on learning how to build a relationship with your dog through positive training, communication and leadership skills.
Whether your dog is a new member to your family, or this is your dog’s first training class experience, Manners and More sets a good foundation for future training and introduces your dog to the class environment. If you are interested in testing for Therapy Dog International and/or Canine Good Citizen, I recommend that you complete Manners and More and/or Good Dog, which cover most of the requirements for both tests. AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY PROGRAM - for dogs up to age of 1 year
The American Kennel Club has created a S.T.A.R. Puppy Program designed to get owners to attend basic training classes with their puppies. It is designed as a six week class, and it is an AKC requirement that owners must attend all six weeks. If you would like to earn this certification, and your dog is age 1 year and younger, we recommend taking Manners and More class or Adolescent Pups class. There will be an added fee of $30.00 for this certification.
